London, UK/Austin, TX – September 08, 2026 – Warden AI, the leading provider for AI bias audits, has launched The Warden Watch, a free public monitor that tracks AI regulation, litigation, and governance developments impacting hiring and employment. With a new AI bill proposed by a U.S. state, on average, every seven hours, and emerging case law such as Mobley v. Workday reshaping AI governance, it has become impossible to track AI legislation and risk manually. Until now, there has been no single dedicated resource that brings together the regulations, lawsuits, and governance developments that specifically affect AI in hiring and workforce decision-making.

An unprecedented patchwork of AI regulation

Regulatory activity around AI has been accelerating sharply in US states. There are already around 150 enacted AI laws on the books, including New York, California, Colorado, Illinois, and Connecticut, with thousands more bills in motion. In the first three months of 2026 alone, US states introduced more than 1,500 AI-related bills, an average of over 17 bills proposed every single day.

At the same time, high-profile litigation cases such as the Meta AI Layoff Lawsuit, Mobley v. Workday and The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) v. iTutorGroup are testing how regulators interpret already existing employment and discrimination law in the face of new technology.

"AI regulation is moving faster than most HR teams realize," said Jeffrey Pole, CEO and co-founder of Warden AI. "We are continually asked by customers for updates on the regulatory landscape and so we developed The Warden Watch to help ourselves and the industry track it effectively.”

Talent and staffing-specific AI regulation and litigation tracking

The Warden Watch is purpose-built for employment and talent use cases. It identifies the status and scope of regulations, relevant dates, who and what it applies to, and its significance for employers and technology providers. It also provides a breakdown of governance requirements, helping distinguish between current requirements and measures that may affect them in the future.

At the time of writing, the tracker contains 29 regulatory records and 5 litigation records across 25 jurisdictions, with coverage spanning North America, Latin America, the EU, the UK, Australia and New Zealand, and Asia. The tracker is regularly updated as new developments are identified through ongoing research by Warden’s Responsible AI Team.

Lifting the hood on AI governance requirements

Understanding and interpreting regulations is also a challenge. A single resume screening tool, for example, can attract an independent audit in one jurisdiction, a notice obligation and strict liability for discriminatory outcomes in another, and a split of responsibility between vendor and employer in a third. Working out which obligations apply where, and keeping on top of them, quickly becomes a job in itself.

The launch reflects growing demand from employers and HR technology providers seeking greater visibility into AI governance requirements. As AI becomes embedded across recruiting, talent management, and workforce operations, organizations are increasingly looking for independent guidance to navigate evolving legal and compliance expectations.

Chad Sowash - Co-host, The Chad & Cheese Podcast | President, Catch 22 Consulting said: "If you’re using AI for hiring without tracking local laws and actual lawsuits, you’re flying blind. You need the regulation, the litigation, and the real-world context in one place, or you’re flying your organization straight into a compliance mountainside."
